Soucy Baron is proud to announce the launch of a new custom-designed automated bonding system, a key milestone in a project initiated in June 2024. This achievement marks a strategic leap forward in our commitment to advanced manufacturing, operator safety, and production excellence.

Engineered and developed entirely in-house, this robotized bonding system achieves high precision applying adhesive to reinforcement inserts prior to rubber molding. Built with flexibility in mind, the system can be adapted to handle various part geometries, including bushings and other custom-molded components.

Designed for continuous operation, the cell can run 22 out of 24 hours without human intervention, requiring less than 10% manual oversight daily. It delivers up to 120 bonded parts per hour, reaching 2,880 parts per day, and up to 730,000 parts annually when operated at full capacity.

Beyond productivity, the new equipment supports both our sustainability targets and our focus on employee well-being. By automating the bonding of heavy or complex inserts, it reduces the risk of musculoskeletal injuries and repetitive motion disorders. Environmentally, the system cuts adhesive and primer usage by 50%, significantly lowering volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.

The machine is already in operation for reinforcement bonding, with plans to expand to other applications such as bushings. With quick-change tooling, intuitive controls, and real-time adjustment capabilities, it supports continuous improvement and smooth integration across product lines.
