    Our History

    Soucy is a private corporation founded by Mr. Gilles Soucy in 1967. With over 1,700 employees throughout 12 facilities located in North America and Asia, Soucy conceptualizes and manufactures various components for leading manufacturers of motorsport, industrial, agricultural and defense vehicles.

    Mr. Gilles Soucy, a farmer by trade, a mechanic and snowmobile enthusiast, founds his first company. He markets his first tracks and distributes snowmobile parts in Québec, Ontario and the Maritimes.

    From Quimpex to Soucy International

    Quimpex Limited is founded under the trade name Kimpex. The company, which manufactures and distributes snowmobile tracks, later became Soucy International Inc. GSI diversifies its business to balance the seasonal sales of snowmobile parts. The company begins manufacturing products for the marine industry.

    Mr. Gilles Soucy founds Koutou Ltd. in order to meet the Soucy Group’s needs for snowmobile products. Koutou Ltd. specializes in sewn and upholstered products and in molded polyurethane and integral skin parts.

    Soucy purchases the remaining shares of Techno owned by Cascades and Roy-Nat. The company is now known as Soucy Techno Inc. Soucy is awarded a contract of $29 million for the design and manufacture of track systems for the STK articulated vehicle.

    Soucy acquires the Laforo Foundry in Ste-Claire in Bellechasse, which is renamed Soucy Belgen Ste-Claire Inc. The company stands out in high-volume production of small gray and ductile cast iron pieces for the industrial, railway, agricultural and automobile sectors. This foundry’s capabilities will complement those of the Soucy Belgen Foundry in Drummondville, which specializes in large-size parts.
