Mr. Soucy's company is incorporated: Gilles Soucy Inc. (GSI) is founded. Following a high demand for its products, the number of parts and components included in the product catalogue is increased.

Quimpex Limited is founded under the trade name Kimpex. The company, which manufactures and distributes snowmobile tracks, later became Soucy International Inc.

GSI diversifies its business to balance the seasonal sales of snowmobile parts. The company begins manufacturing products for the marine industry.

GSI becomes the exclusive distributor of Suzuki outboard motors for Eastern Canada.

GSI buys Les Accessoires Trans-Cycle Ltd. and at the same time enlarges its product lines.

GSI acquires Plastiques Prospect Inc., which is then known as Soucy Plastiques Inc. The company specializes in the manufacture of polyethylene parts with ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW), such as idlers and sprockets for the snowmobile industry.

Mr. Gilles Soucy founds Koutou Ltd. in order to meet the needs of the Soucy Group regarding products associated with snowmobiles. Koutou Ltd. specializes in sewn and upholstered products and in moulded polyurethane and integral skin parts.

Mr. Soucy sells GSI, Kimpex USA and Les Accessoires Trans-Cycle to a group of American investors. The company, renamed Kimpex, becomes a select partner.

In collaboration with Cascades and Roy-Nat, the Soucy group buys 50% of Techno, a company that specializes in the preparation of rubber compounds and polyethylene-based colour concentrates.

The Soucy group acquires Baron Caoutchouc in St-Jérome, which now bears the name of Soucy Baron Inc. The company specializes in the manufacture of moulded rubber parts tailored to different client needs.

The Soucy group purchases the remaining shares of Techno owned by Cascades and Roy-Nat. The company is now known as Soucy Techno Inc.

The Soucy group is awarded a contract of $29 million for the design and manufacture of track systems for the STK articulated vehicle.

The Soucy group acquires Rivalair, which is now named Soucy Rivalair Inc. The company specializes in the manufacture of metal components, in particular through forging, stamping, machining, bending and assembly.

The Soucy group opens its first office in China and at the same time creates its subsidiary Soucy China.

The Soucy group makes its debut on the agricultural market with the launch of the Soucy Track line of agricultural track systems. After a few years, the division is offering the widest range of track systems on the market.

The Soucy group acquires the Belgen Foundry, which now bears the name of Soucy Belgen Inc. The company stands out with its turnkey service. It is one of the only foundries to offer the traditional green sand casting and resin sand process (no-bake) under one roof.

Major investments in Soucy Rivalair allow the acquisition of 5-axis machining centres and CMM machine on the cutting edge of technology. These investments allow Soucy Rivalair to enhance and diversify its offering and its position as a field leader.

The Soucy Track product range is enhanced with the launch of the S-TECH Series that integrates expertise in foundry and machining acquired in recent years. These products rapidly take the technological lead on the market.
